Hi everyone,

I'm using W'98 with Office'97. One of the clients I work for sends me files
in Excel format. In some of the data there are % values. Ultimately I want
to import these data into Access and do calculations on them. On importing
these values to Access a text fied results, and I'm offered no way to change
the field type. Further, if I attempt to change the field type in Access
these values become 1's (I knew this would happen).

Consider these data

        A B
1 34.32%
2 87.29%

I can enter the statement "=A1*100" in the B1 cell and derive the numeric
value 34.32. Extending the formula down the B column converts these data to
numeric, I can do a variety of calculations, and the world is a wonderful
place. However, I need to import these data into Access. Access doesn't
import calculated fields. So, the question is, how can I convert from a % to
a number field type that would allow me to import into Access?

All help is appreciated and welcome.

Regards,

Paul Roeth
