The problem is NOT your operating system. What is happening is that the system
is not resetting, or even getting into POST (Power On Self Test) to try and
boot. The box and message you see comes from the monitor, it is telling you it
is receiving no video signal.
The problem then is to find why the system isn't resetting sometimes. It could
be running too warm internally, there could be marginal components (RAM, CPU,
Power Supply, etc). There are a lot of different reasons. You need to have a
knowledgeable person check these things out.
