If your internet explorer version is below 5.5 then the following microsoft knowledge base article will help fix it. The article is titled " FIX: Error on Exit in IE when Using Java Serialization "

Having said this I have to confess that I myself am unable to comprehend the "fix" given by MS. So I would suggest you upgrade to the latest version of internet explorer and see if the problem resolves.
