The Office Shortcut Bar has been included in Office 97 SBE since mid-to-late
1998, when version 2.0 was introduced. It does not install automatically,
but is part of the "valu pack". Article Q185320 in the MS Knowledgebase
outlines this information. In many cases, SBE 2.0 was a free upgrade to SBE
ver 1.0.
If you are running IE4, or Win98 , the "Quick Launch" toolbar replaces the
functionality of the Shortcut bar... and should probably be used instead, as
it is not a "program" that runs in the background (taking resources and
causing potential conflicts).
