I checked again and I do not have the sort feature. I have IE 4.0 so the
addition of the "Sort by Name" feature may have been added by IE 5 since
"the IE is an integrated part of the operating system". Can anyone confirm
this?

This is available in WIN98. However, I also have IE5 loaded which may have
made this change.

Thanks for the response. I checked this and I do not have the "Sort by
Name" feature. I'm running W98. I think that may be available in W98SE
only.

Hi Roy,
Just hit the start button, go to programs, right click on any of the
programs and select sort by name. This will sort your start menu
alphabetically. There is one caveat to this, it doesn't put Microsoft
programs in the aforementioned order. In other words, programs, with icon,
such as Word, Excel and the like stay towards the bottom.

On my PC running W98, as I add programs they seem to appear at the bottom of
the start menu. I'm referring to the Start -> Programs pop up menu. They
are not all arranged in alphabetical order but the ones at the bottom of the
list seem to be in the order in which I added the new programs. I would
like to have them arranged in alphabetical order.
