Nancy,

My apologies .. it never occured to me that anyone would still be running Windows 98/Me because the operating systems are no longer supported by Microsoft and therefore vulnerable to security flaws that have been revealed since active support via patching ended. The same would apply for Internet Explorer and Outlook Express running under Windows 98/Me, if you use either of those products.

A quick google check seems to indicate that Windows Millenium is supported by Lavasoft's previous version of Ad-Aware, Ad-Aware Personal 1.06r1. You may download it directly here: http://www.filehippo.com/download/9595ee1f762a8de9073ab22e521f98db/download/. Please note that you'll need to update the definitions file manually once the program is installed for the reasons I described in my original post on this topic. The most up-to-date definitions file, released earlier today and dated 12 Feb 2008, can be accessed here: http://www.lavasoftusa.com/single/mirror_download.php?f=948DEWk12.

HTH.

One last observation if I may .. while I certainly respect your decision to continue using Windows Millenium for your PC's desktop environment, I would recommend giving thoughtful consideration to upgrading to Windows 2000 Professional if your hardware will support it. There's a world of difference 'under the hood' between the two operating systems with W2K being more capable and stable in every possible way; and it's an easy transition for the user, too, as the Windows 2000 GUI is similar or identical to that of Windows Millenium. Not surprising I guess since both product's GUIs were developed in the same time period.

Good luck my friend, and please let us know how you make out.
