Rick:
Evidently installing AOL v5 can cause major problems, but I"m not sure
that messing up the shut down procedure is one of them. Fred Langa's
(start at www.langa.com) newsletter has focussed on the problems over
the past few issues. Someone has even filed a class action suit against
AOL (Gee, a lawsuit. Why isn't that a big shock to me?). Not much help,
I admit, but at least you have the comfort of knowing that your brother
isn't the only one who may have been affected.
