Such a feature is a standard part of SMTP mail. To activate this in MS
Outlook, go to Tools/Options/(Preferences Tab)/e-mail/tracking. There you
will find a checkbox that causes a read receipt to be sent back to you.
There is a problem in using this feature - it works ONLY if the receiving
end has receipt acknowledge enabled. If someone does not want to acknowledge
your request, then you will never know if the message got there.

Subject: [PCSOFT] Email Receipt
Does anyone know of an email program that lets you know when (date and
time) the recipient opens an email you have sent them?
My son (who's away at college) selectively says he never got certain
emails that I send him, or doesn't open them "in time."
We have AOL, but he doesn't, so that program won't work. He is using
Juno.
