I would download and install Ad-aware at

This is a free program. In my experience it does a good job of removing
scumware.

Subject: [PCSOFT] Persistent program
A friend has asked me to help her rid her computer of a very persistent
porn program that keep trying to dial out. She says that she has deleted it
several times, although I beleive from listening to her what she has been
deleting was only a sortcut, but regardles everytime she restarts her
computer the shorcut is back and the program tries to dial out.
My request is what and where should i be looking for this program and
where it is being called to start from. I do realize that there are several
places this can happen, startup folder, registry, win. ini system files etc.
She is running Windows 98SE
Thanks and Happy Holidays to everyone.
