I've run across this one several times on customer's machines - unless it's a hoax, and I must say I've never experienced such a thing, you've definitely got a version of the magistr virus. I didn't have much trouble eradicating it, even tho it seems to go for exe files. What I did was to download the antivirus program 'fprot', which is available as a freebie, and will fit on 3 floppies. You then run a dos scan (in both cases it found and 'disinfected' around 60 files) and you get a report on which files it fixed etc, so you know which ones you might need to replace if neccessary.
Good Luck!

Subject: [PCSOFT] desktop icon problem
Hi all-
I know this problem was addressed already but I didn't pay attention. I'm running Win98 and today my icons started "jumping around" the screen when the mouse pointer runs across them. At one point the mouse pointer was "chasing" them around the screen. Does anybody know what could be causing this and how to fix it? Is it some kind of virus? Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
