1) a virus (probably)
2) yes (probably)
OE6 should allow you to "save to disk" the attachment. Do that to your
Desktop and then scan it. Your antivirus program may catch it, however, as
you are saving it to the Desktop. Both you and your friend should
immediately run your AV program (using, of course, the latest updates) and
then go from there. Also, you may go to http://housecall.antivirus.com to
do an online, real-time AV scan.
If you are not using an AV program, see below....
The fact that your friend "did not intentionally send it" is a clear
indication to me that her PC is indeed infected. Also, if your PC is not
set to "show file extensions" and you see "me_nude.m.scr" (the .scr would
normally be the extension in this case), then the file name is
misrepresenting what the file actually is. It is most likely a .vbs file (a
script) which, when opened or run, sets out to infect your machine, too.
Go to http://www.cai.com/ and do a search for "nude.scr."

Subject: [PCSOFT] suspicious attachment
I received an email in OE6 from a friend (she did not intentionally send it)
with an attachment named 'me_nude.m.scr.' I couldn't find a reference to
this on any of the virus sites and the only Google results were Japanese
sites. What is this? Is her machine infected?
