Dear Chuck,
To play some (or all?) WMV files, the player (Windows Media player) needs a
"codec" (the "decompressor" which can't be found when trying to play it).
When Windows Media player can't find a codec it needs it is supposed to
download it "automatically" but it doesn't do that always... or most of the
time... So you have to download and install the codec manually. I am told
you can get the WMV codec here.
