I'm not sure who owns the company this week (they've been bought out three
times in two years) but Uninstaller by the former MicroHelp which was
bought by Cybermedia, which was bought by McAffee, which is now owned by
Network Associates.... <whew>, pant, pant, pant.... is a really great
program.
And it meets your primary concern. It has a MONITOR option which will
keep track of everything that happens during a software installation. The
monitor can be run full time or as needed. And the monitor will keep
right on tracking even through the installing software's reboot.
