I bought and used the latest version of OmniPage Pro from CAERE
(http://www.caere.com). I had to OCR a bunch of pages in 10 point text (way
too small - should have been the normal 12), and OmniPage Pro did very
well. As it scans, it will highlight suspect words/phrases, offer
suggestions, and let you edit (similar to Word's built-in spell checker). I
was OCR'ing files, not directly from the scanner, but if you use a
supported scanner (believe that includes all TWAIN-compliant), the program
will automatically scan, process and save as a Word document. Very good
program, I like it a lot.
