I have personally seen this happen to my machines, (possibly different
updates), and it eventually stopped on it's own...

The only thing I can suggest for anyone in this situation is to investigate
the requirements about needing "the" update and see if you do, and then
see if there is a way to verify the update is "taking" on your system.
Sometimes MS will provide this info in the KB if you look properly...
The security update pages for this number "should" have lots of
extra information you can see by drilling down through the little
more info buttons of the left edge of the main description, or the
"see also" pages...

If all seems well, it may just go away by itself... It always has for me,
but I did all the above while I was waiting...
