Brenda,
To disable, at the top click on View, then in the drop down you should see
Preview Pane. Just click it to disable.

Related to the issue of the preview pane, I'm a new user
of Outlook and don't like the preview pane. I have
resized the inbox to "cover" the preview pane. Is that
all I have to do, or is there a setting somewhere to
permanently get rid of it?
Thanks, Brenda Dencer
