Hello there,

Well, as far as how long it took me to download the whole package, sorry,
I don't remember, seems like it was about 90 minutes with a 56k modem.
I too tried and tried and tried to download IE5 from microsoft's site and
got nothing but headaches. Failled installs after downloading the whole
thing, locked up puter, and other misc things. I never did get it right.
Finally, I buzzed over to zdnet and found their version of IE5 and
installed it. ? http://www.zdnet.com ? then search in their downloads
and you will find it. Zdnet appears to be a bit of a slow site to
download from but, heck, it worked first time for me from there.

My biggest problem now, is that with IE4.xx in the address bar, I used
to be able to type in , say, zdnet, and I would be zapped over there via
auto-complete of the address. Now, however, when I do that it takes me
to my search page with suggestions on where to go and I have to click on
the coorrect address. This would be fine if I had inserted a question
mark before zdnet in the url bar, but I am not attempting a search, I
just want to be whisked away to the site. It could just be a setting
that I am missing. But, for now, it is really a pain. I believe that
auto-search is the cullprit, used to work perfect, it would search for
most likely match, then take me there, now it doesn't, and I do have it
checked under options. ?????
btw, I am running Win98

take care all,
David A. Abbe
