More information on your present install would be helpful. Was it a clean
install by you? Is it a factory install on a new computer? Did you upgrade
from Win 98SE and save the Win 98SE installation? Here are links to two
Microsoft Knowledge Base articles. Check both to see how they apply to your
situation. The procedures described in the first article require you to
reinstall Win 98SE along with all your programs.
If your present installation is an upgrade and you chose to save the Win 8SE
files there should be an entry in Add or Remove Programs in Control Panel to
allow you to uninstall XP and revert back to Win 98SE. See the article at
the second link.
