To the best of my knowledge there is no workaround at Gmail.
I never worried about seeing my own posts, so I never tried hard.
As I've implied, the list is "set" to send them.

The Moderators tell you when they are not approved, and they
are in the quoting that comes back with replies from others.
Not seeing them has other pluses...
