Click START -- SETTINGS -- CONTROL PANEL
Double click ADD/REMOVE PROGRAMS.
Scroll down the list to find IE and double click it.
The next dialog will have an option to REPAIR.

I know there is some way on the computer to do a self-diagnostic for IE5. I
did it once with the help of my isp but I forgot the steps. It was great
and cleared up the problem without having to delete and reload the browser.
