Sorry Linda, but I think that either you or Symantec must be confused.
First of all, Melissa is a macro-nuisance not a true virus.

Secondly - and more importantly - JPGs are graphic files and NO graphic
file of any type can contain an executable macro.  It just can't happen.
No ifs, no ands, no buts......

Thirdly, - and this is just pie in the sky wild speculation - even if
someone COULD figure out how to combine the macro with the jpeg, there are
NO applications which could extract and activate the macro from the
graphic.
