I have a peer to peer network with W98 W2000 and XPP machines and I am trying to set up a DDE share from the W2000 with server funtionality.

I set up the share as Data$, save the specified worksheet and then open worksheets on a w98 machine and a XPP machine with references to the share and both connect and update correctly.

If I close either of the "client" sheets and then re-open them all is well, but if I close the server sheet even after closing the two client sheets, when I try again, I can not get the client sheets to link without saving the server sheet as a different name having changed the entry in the DDE share.

Anybody out there with an explanation and solution please?

Cheers
