Jean, I've seen that message also - tho defrag always started eventually.
I assume you're trying to start it from Start\Programs\Accessories etc? There are several ways of getting to it.
First, you might try opening My Computer, then right click C drive, Properties, Tools and select Defrag from there. (But use Scandisk first - always)
Or - open the C:\Windows folder, find Defrag.exe and click it to start the prog (right after you run Scandisk, which is in the same folder :--))
If you're handy, you can right-drag both of these icons to the desktop and select 'Create shortcut here'. Just make the Windows 'window' small enough so you can see the desktop behind it.
I doubt that defrag has really been lost - but if this proves to be the case, you should be able to restore it by running System File Checker.

When I recently tried to defrag my computer, I was told the program was no
longer on my computer. How can I get it back? Thank you.
