Hello William,

Bandlink is a CD enhancement technology added to the CD by the manufacturer.
It's software that allows you to get information on the artist(s) from the
Internet such as tour dates, pictures, etc., and even connect to anyone in
the world listening to the same CD. Check the CD cover (front or back) for
their registered Bandlink Logo.

You should be able to play the CD without installing Bandlink this way:
Insert the CD in the drive, click Cancel on the Bandlink installation and
"OK" to the Windows Media Player error. Open Windows Media Player and on the
menu select "Play", then select the "CD Audio" or similar option depending
on the version you have.

Here are two links for more information:

Subject: [PCSOFT] Bandlink Enhanced CD Technology - What is it?

Trying to play a CD on my computer, but when I load the disk, I get a notice
that "This setup program will install bandlink" with an option to "Install
Now".

If I choose to cancel, I get a Windows Media Player Error "The system cannot
find the file specified."

So, what is this Bandlink? Why is it there? Why can't I play CD without
it? Does it have a tracking program or some other kind of malware? Is
there any downside to installing it? When will gas prices come down?
