Used to have copies of programs like these and have lost them. Anyone
have links, FTP sites, etc. to find them again or something
similar/better? Freeware preferred.

1.) A simple "whohasit" program that will list all users on a Novell
network who are using a given file (ideally the filename to be entered on
the command line). Can be DOS-based, but should be ver. 4.11 (NDS)
compatible.

2.) An IPX "ping" type of program, to test whether a Novell device is
alive or not, given its' network address or device name. This one does
need to be DOS-based and entirely command-line driven, and return a DOS
error code if the device doesn't respond (i.e. suitable for batch file
use).

3.) Alternatively to the program #2 above, the desired end result is to
have a dedicated, simple 486 system on the network which will sleep most
of the time but wake up every half hour or so and test the servers or
other network devices, then if any are found dead, the PC will use its'
modem to dial my pager number with an error code to indicate which device
it didn't hear from. Used to have just such a PC set up at my last job
running a batch file in an infinite loop with some simple DOS utilities
(a delay/sleep program, a command-line modem dialer, and a program like
#2 above) but didn't make a copy of this stuff before I left there.

Appreciate the help...!
