I have a Win 98 PC that is booting to and spending most of it's time in DOS.
I know how Win98 handles Dos mode......when it exits it uses the existing
autoexec.bat and config.sys....if there isn't one it uses a basic default
configuration ...OR if you have set up a exit to DOS pif it will backup the
current autoexec and config files and use the exit to DOS setup
files...when it returns to windows it will reverse the process.

However in my setup I default boot into DOS from a specific Autoexec.bat
and Config.sys and boot to windows by typing win. From Windows I restart
the computer to get back into DOS. The problem is when I go from DOS to
windows it keeps the DOS autoexec.bat and config.sys to load windows. This
of course is problematic when loading sound and CD drivers. What I want it
to do is to enter Windows without a autoexec.bat or config.sys and then
restore them when it exits.

I can accomplish this using batch files but is there away to do this that
is inherent to Win 98?

thanks for the help
