I did turn off the system restore and restarted the computer in safe mode.
I then did the AVG scan
again and it still came up with the virus detected.  I talked to Gateway
again and they told me that
I could not reformat my computer with a virus on it.  Does that sound right?
I am running Microsoft ME.
I was under the impression that reformatting would take care of my problems
if I could not get rid of the
virus any other way.  Thank you for responding to this problem.
