Rob,

That is in addition to. These protect you to some degree from getting
spyware in the first place. Used in conjunction with SpyBot and Ad-aware,
you will have a pretty good defense set up. Nothing is 100% effective but as
long as you keep everything up to date you'll have the majority of them
whipped.
