PCSOFT Digest - 7 Jan 2001 to 8 Jan 2001 (#2001-9)Hello,
I am writing this to inform the grpoup that I have finally managed to remove the virus with minimal fuss. I would like to share with the group the problems faced. I was advised by many to visit varoius Norton sites. The problem was that whenever I tried to access a site with the word 'Symantec' in it the the virus would close the IE with the message "..performed an illegal action...." I was at my wits end. Finally I got the "Innoculate it" antivirus program  (http://antivirus.cai.com )  with which all infected files were detected, cleaned and the virus file MT_.exe was deleted.
