Hi Dave,

I should have been a little more clear with my answer.

My suggestion should work for you in Windows 2000:

Open one instance of Windows Explorer to C:\
Set the View settings as you want them...Large icons or Details,
turn on or off View, As web page, and so forth.
When set, press the F5 key.
Hold down the CTRL key while you close the Explorer window by
clicking the X control in the upper right corner of the window.

I know that Peter's suggestion works in Windows XP:

Set the explorer view the way you want it. Then select
Tools/FolderOptions and then click on the View tab. There is a button
"Apply to All Folder" - if you press that button, everything in
explorer will come up the way you had the current view set.

I am not sure how to do this in Windows 9x.
