You can, indeed, right-click them and drag them off, but you may need to
right-click the taskbar and un-check "Lock the taskbar" first. You can also
left-click and drag or right-click and "Delete".

I have too many icons on my taskbar that I don't use on a regular basis. I
know I can access these from my programs file, how can I remove them from
the taskbar? I have already tried to right-click & drag them off but this
does not work. Thank you for the assistance.
