You are not clear about what opens. I conclude that the system32 folder is
opened. This will happen when a file appears in the "run" registry entry but
is missing form the system32 folder. This can happen if the file in manually
deleted, or if something was uninstalled but did not correct the registry
entry. I have had it happen. You might run msconfig and look at what is in
your startup section. Post here for more help.

Hi: Recently a family member borrowed my laptop and upon return I found an
interesting addition when I booted it up. When it boots up there is a
system 32 file that opens on the screen. I click to close it out - but have
no idea why it is there and how to get rid of it so it doesn't open each
time I reboot. I tried restoring and evidently they played with the restore
function and there were problems there as well. Any ideas of what they
might have done and what I can now do. When I asked them what they were
doing with my lap top-- I get "nothing mom- just doing the regular stuff."
Ya Right! Second question - do you have any evaluation of Max registry
cleaner, I want to invest in one that is really good and this one pops up -
but is not one that I have seen mentioned on the listserv. Thanks much -
Betty
