Generally if there is an unidentified "hidden program" running in the
background, ctrl, alt, del simultaneously will show the running applications
EXCEPT spyware that may be attempting to access the net. Have you tried to
run applications such as Spyware S&D, SpywareBlaster, or AdAware? All are
free programs and do seem to a relatively good job of cleaning up the junk
that runs rampantly in the background.
