Hi Hans,
It sounds as though Windows Messenger (MSN Messenger in Win9x) is starting
when Windows starts. You can change this by opening it and clicking Tools \
Options \ Preferences tab and uncheck the box by "Run this program when
Windows starts". Then place a shortcut to Windows Messenger in your Quick
Launch bar on the Task Bar for one click access when you want to use it.
Also, if and when you decide to use Outlook Express, go to Tools \ Options
and under "General" on the General tab, uncheck the box by "Automatically
log on to Windows Messenger".
