Try "Speakonia" from CFS-Technologies
http://www.cfs-technologies.com/

Type in text and it plays it back with  a choice of 8 different male or
female accents; select text and that is played back; type or copy and
paste into the Speakonia window and that can be saved as a .wav
file.

Very pleased with it, works a treat.
