Barbara,
I use Eudora and love it. Your problem is probably related to your old
installation that was not completely removed. After uninstalling the
program and noting that part of it is still in your file system, you should
manually remove the rest of it by deleting the Eudora directory and its
contents.
If you know how to edit the registry, get rid of all references to
Eudora. If you don't know, then don't attempt to do it. Get some computer
savvy person to do it for you. Then reinstall Eudora. I had a similar
problem and fixed it this way.
