Joan, I don't know if this will help you, but I have a very old DOS word
processor program called Mindreader that is good for people with physical
problems.
When you type the first couple letters of a word, it tries to finish the
word for you. For example, if you type "th" it will add a tentative "e."
If that's the word you want, you hit the semicolon key and it adds a
space and you're ready to start the next word. If you don't want the
"e," you type the next letter you want (for example, "a"), and it will
try again, offering a "t" (for "that). This can reduce typing effort
significantly for someone who must type very slowly, one letter at a
time.
I don't know if anything like this is available for windows. It was a
shareware program; I can probably find it (somewhere in my basement!) if
you think it might do you any good.
