Hi Listers!

A new program that needs to be installed each year caused the printing from that program to become excessively light and only for that one updated program. Tech support after an hour trying had no idea and commented the program was completely revised with a whole new engine:

This then led to the following:

A Brother HL 1440 printer has been part of a windows XP professional via usb cable.
Since we need to print, I installed an Epson Action Laser 1500 (which emulates HP laserjetIII if you need it to--it has been on every OS since DOS through Windows 2000 via LPT)
For the XP I connected via an LPT to USB cable (since there is no LPT port).
When I installed it from add printers and xp drivers via lpt--the document went to the printer queue but did not print because the work off line feature was checked and you could not uncheck it within the properties. Then I installed the driver via USB and it would print form that program perfectly but to the Brother printer. Then I tried the HP lasterjet III drivers and that too went to the Brother. If I closed and unplugged the epson, then it would give an error trying to print to the brother printer. If I close the Brother, it did not print to epson.
Why the crossover???? Each USB port shows correct USB alignment to each printer and if you go to "add another printer" and you click how it is connected then another usb virtual port appears.
In the end I uninstalled the Epson and the HP from the printers, and then Brother would not print from any program. I reinstalled Brother drivers from the cd and all is well
