My mistake, not a clean boot but a clean install. Sorry :-) To much
party on the holiday...actually too much on the Honey Dew List <G>.

A clean install is one in which you wipe you hard drive clean via fdisk
and format and then install the OS, e.g. Win9x.

There are many programs that will allow you to back up your registry
files (system.dat and user, dat). I personally have designed a program
that does so and install it on all the puters I sell. This runs in the
background daily and weekly. The customer then also gets a boot
diskette (startup diskette) which has the repair programs which I also
wrote to restore the reg files from the different day/week backups. .

What you answered makes sense, but I have two questions. What is a
clean boot??? And how do you back up the reg files. I don't
even know where to find them. Do you just copy them to a floppy??
