Dear Folks:
I have a client whose computer I recently upgraded (ASUS P5 mobo, 100mhz RAM
and AMDK62 333 CPU from an AOpen mobo with 166 Cyrix CPU) because he wanted
more speed and was experiencing shut down problems. I did not disturb the
hard drive initially, but the new motherboard components registered in
device manager multiple times so I thought the easiest solution was to
format and reinstall the software/data. On doing this, I missed backing up
the data he had stored in the Lotus Organizer feature. The problem we are
now experiencing is that the Internet features on Lotus Smart Suite would,
on the old system, automatically dial his ISP on refreshing the page. Now,
even when connected to the internet, the internet functions of that program
are not working appropriately. We are still, once in a while, experiencing
shut down problems.
Significant information: he is running Win95 version 4.10.1998, McAfee
4.01, Norton Utilities, QB Pro 99, IE 4.01, Corel WP Suite and Lotus Smart
Suite, on a peer to peer 2 computer network. Any ideas??
Thanks,
Gina Hunkins
