Assuming your computer meets or exceeds the game's hardware
requirements, I would check the manufacturer's site to see if there is a
patch for the game. I make it a habit to do this before I run new, to
me, game software.

As an additional comment on the hardware side, when you are playing do you
have adequate airflow into the laptop? (ie; nothing blocking the intake)
Have you had the game for awhile and the problem just started, or is this
the first time you've run the game on your laptop?
