Hello Everyone,
Regarding my encounter with the 'Die Hard 2-M' virus detected for my Explorer.exe and Iexplore.exe files, I was able to successfully eliminate the same. I have outlined the procedure I adopted herebelow for all those who may be interested.
1. I copied the infected files onto a floppy (luckily they were pretty small)
2. I scanned and cleaned the files on the floppy.
3. I rebooted afresh to DOS and copied back the cleaned floppy files back into the respective folders, overwriting the infected ones.
The next scan showed my drive was clean.
P.S. I did not attempt copying from my Win98 PC, since the file versions were different.
Regards
Shaleen Kumar
