Jim,

You have received a few good answers that point out locations for HTML training,

BUT....
Learning HTML to design a web page is like learning how an internal combustion
engine
works before you can drive a car. It's interesting information and nice to know
but for
what you asked.... a "simple" web page - it reeeeally isn't needed.

There are two phases to publishing a web page. 1- design it 2- upload it to a
web server

For phase 1----
Both MS Word and Wordperfect (versions 7 and up) are capable of converting a
document to a web page very quickly and easily.

Just load your flavor (Word or WordPerfect), create the document with graphics
(or
in your case -- pix of the kids). Save the file in it's native format (*.DOC or
*.WPD), then convert it to HTML.

In MS Word -- click FILE -- SAVE AS -- then change the FILE TYPE box (at the
bottom of the dialog) to HTML and give it a name.

In WordPerfect -- just click the "CHANGE VIEW" button on the toolbar (it's next
to
the perfect expert pen) and save the file.

Phase 2 ----
Now that you have created and saved the file, you need to "upload" it to your
ISPs
server. You will need to talk with your ISP to get some more information before

you can complete this task. Once you have the correct address to "send" your
new page to, it may be as simple as clicking START --RUN-- FTP somethin'
somethin'
OR if you have Netscape 4.x, you might be able to connect to the web server and
just
click FILE -- UPLOAD FILE.
OR you might need an FTP program WS_FTP is a good one.
Whichever method is needed, your own ISP is the first place to ask questions.
Only
s/he knows exactly what you need to do. The rest of us out here can only guess.
