I posted this once before in response to someone's query along these lines,
but I'll post it again as I find my solution very workable.
I've tried quite a few pop-up ad killers and have yet to find one that's
easy to configure and doesn't cause Windows problems when it's in use. If
there's anything I've learnt about computers over the years, it's KEEP IT
SIMPLE.

And the simplest way to get rid of pop-up windows is to hold down the
control key and bash the 'W' key once for each pop-up. You can even do it
one-handed with a little practice ;--))
