I didn't see a reply to this, so I thought I'd let you know not to be
intimidated by that warning. 
In other words, go ahead and change your virtual memory settings, just make
sure those are the right settings you were told. 
They don't seem right for what you have for physical memory.
A general rule of changing it is to set the minimum at 2.5 or 3 times your
physical memory, which would put it at around 700mb
The maximum can be any number up to what you have available on your hard
drive. Best bet is to leave that setting alone.
If you have more than one partition, you can also change its location in the
top line.
