> I have a computer (my wife's) that occasionally (about once a day) locks
up while playing Freecell. The cards freeze and the computer has to be
rebooted before anything will happen. She doesn't normally use the computer for anything other than business applications such as Word, Quickbooks, Outlook Express, and IE5, and nothing else consistently causes the problem. After rebooting it may work properly for hours or a day until it does it again, always while playing Freecell. It did this before, along with other problems (under warranty) and the display adapter was replaced (3/99) and that seemed to fix it (until now that it is out of warranty). Should I suspect another bad display
adapter? Bad MOBO? Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks.
i dont know if i casn help you or not. but the first thing i would check
is the motherboard. most similar symptoms are usually caused by a bad
motherboard.
try to remove the vga driver and run the card in combatibity mode (only 16
colors) and see if it locks up. if it doesn't, then its a graphics card
problem. if it does, it could be one of them.
is the VGA card PCI or AGP. if its AGP then the problem is your graphics
card. TNT cards are vary famouse for not working properly on super7
platform.
hope this helps a bit
