Two things I found out when I had the same problem with Creative CD drive.
First time I encountered this I had to open the computer and found the card
not fully seated in the slot. Subsequent same problems I had to find an
install disk to have the CD detected as plug and play. It is a disk from
Creative and strangely not included in my package as standard. You may want
to try the universal driver.
