Hello all,
I have been using my computer as our answering machine for quite
some time. The software I've been using is a package that came with
my USR modem and it's called QuickLink; have been using it for a
year and a half. It has been working well for all this time, then
for some reason it began to goof up.
So, I've been itching to try another program and now was my
excuse. I decided to download a trial version of Symantec's
Talkworks Pro. I set it up and it worked fine for a while and then
I began having the same problem with it that I was having as of late
with QuickLink.
Now, here's the problem---when I dial into the computer, the
program is there and ready to receive the message, but you can't
hear the voice file; all you hear is a click, then silence for a
short period, then eventually it hangs up like it's supposed to.
This scenario happens with ~both~ programs, so I'm fairly certain
it isn't either program but something else. Any ideas or comments
would be appreciated.
Thank You.
