Mike,
I had the same experience last week returning from an extended business
trip. I had 197 e-mails waiting for me. The point is, when I pulled
them off the ISP server. I had set defaults to NOT leave a copy of my
e-mail on the ISP server. This was a big mistake (as it turned out).

Whether there was a bad e-mail file or what - have no way of knowing.
Anyway, I read almost all of the mail to find that when I reached a
certain e-mail I would received the "page fault" error you describe. No
matter how many times I restarted Netscape 3, whenever I clicked on
mail, the program would crash.

My ISP techie had me do the following:
        1. Find the MAIL folder in netscape (use Windows Explorer).
        2. Change the name of the MAIL folder to OLDMAIL.
        3. Click on OLDMAIL and when asked for the program to use to read the
file, select Netscape. You will see all of your original subfolders and
email.

The "bummer" is that there are no longer any 'individual' e-mails - the
individual subfolders are preserves but all e-mails in each folder are
concatenated (I think I spelled it right) - they are all connected
together.

For me it means a cut&paste exercise of abount 2,000 e-mails.

At least it's better then losing them all. Of course, I changed the
option to allow a copy of all of my emails to remain on the ISP server.

By the way, Mike, when you click on the mail envelope there will be new
inbox, etc. setup automatically and you can restart.

If the problem was not a corrupted MAIL folder but the PROGRAM kernal,
you've got a different problem from me.

I hope this has been of some help.
George
