Hello Colin,

How do the addressees appear in the recipient's copy? Are they in the To: or
Cc: field? Does this occur with all mail sent to the group or only a few?
For the copy sent to yourself, are you the only recipient listed? Take a
look at the properties of one of the newsletters in the Sent Items folder.
On the "Details" tab it should show "From:" you, "To:" you and "Bcc" for all
other group members.

When you click the "To:" button on the draft e-mail to bring up the address
book, do not double click the group on the left side. This will place it in
the "To:" field. Select the group by a single click, then click the "Bcc"
button on the right to place it there, or right click the group and select
"Bcc". It's not necessary to address it to yourself in the "To" field to
send Bcc. You only need to add yourself if you want a copy of the sent
e-mail.

Somehow the group is being placed in one of the other fields instead of, or
in addition to, the Bcc field. Hopefully, checking the above will reveal the
cause.

Sven Swanson, Sr.

Subject: [PCSOFT] Outlook Express BCC problem.

I prepare a monthly Newsletter that I disperse via email to 80 =
people. I usually address it to myself and the others are always =
included in the BCC line only using the name of the group, e.g. =
XXXComputer Users Group. What happens is that each of the recipients =
gets the Newsletter PLUS the full list of names and email addresses of =
the whole group instead of simply 'other recipients'. I am using OE 6 and
obviously use BCC for privacy.

I am using a new computer, Pentium 4, XP Home and XP Office, and Outlook
Express 6. I have had a look at Microsoft's support but have not found
any clue to this occurrence as yet. It would be greatly appreciated by me
and the whole group if someone has the answer, particularly as I have
stressed the use of BCC in similar cases.

With thanks in anticipation, yours, Colin Joyce
